description : This item is 100% working fully tested.  We own 14 of the Intel SR1500ALNA SATA 1U servers.  In order to achieve better performance, we changed out the SATA backplane with this SAS backplane, installed a couple of 15,000 RPM SAS harddisks, and we found the performance to be signifancantly better.  However, due to the cost of SAS harddisks we decided to go back to SATA drives.  This controller supports both SAS and SATA by the way, but the drivers for SAS is different than SATA.
